HARRY REID NEWS RELEASE
Senator Harry Reid met yesterday with Washoe County Sheriff Mike Haley to discuss local law enforcement and safety issues. Reid told Haley that he is committed to ensuring the Sheriff’s Office, local law enforcement and first responders have the necessary resources to keep communities in Washoe County secure.
In May 2012, Reid joined Sheriff Haley and public safety officials to unveil a critical incident response vehicle. Reid helped the Sheriff’s Office receive a grant for the response vehicle from the Department of Justice. The vehicle will reduce time response delays and will allow law enforcement and emergency personnel to work together during times of crisis.
“Sheriff Haley and I both know how important it is to keep communities in Washoe County secure,” said Reid. “It is crucial that local law enforcement are prepared to handle a range of emergency and security scenarios, and I will continue to work with the Sheriff’s Office to make sure they have the resources necessary to keep local residents safe.”
