The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum (The Discovery) recently added a new exhibit to the museum’s Build It! gallery which focuses on engineering, construction and alternative energy. The exhibit entitled “What Will You Build?” includes a large flat surface for museum visitors to work collaboratively to build structures using a variety of materials, some of which are available in the museum’s store.

“Regularly creating new experiences for museum visitors is something we have always strived to do,” said Will Durham, exhibits manager. “‘What Will You Build?’ is the fourth exhibit fabricated on site since the museum opened by talented exhibits fabricator, Nathan Tobey.”

More changes are planned for The Discovery in the near future including a new exhibit entitled “Electrosketch.” This exhibit will combine modern electronics with an Etch A Sketch, to create a large-scale, high-tech version of the classic toy. A new gallery called Body Works centered around healthy lifestyles and the human body is also in the planning stages.
