NV SENATE REPUBLICAN CAUCUS NEWS RELEASE
FALLON – The Nevada Senate Republican Caucus today endorsed Mari Nakashima St. Martin for State Senate District 9.
“Mari is a third-generation Nevadan who cares deeply about our state,” said Nevada Senate Minority Leader Mike McGinness, R-Fallon. “She will provide a fresh perspective to our caucus as we work to implement policies that will ensure the growth of Nevada’s economy. Her experiences growing up in Nevada and working in her family’s small business will make her a great asset to the state of Nevada.”
Sen. Michael Roberson, R-Henderson, campaign chairman for the Senate Republicans, said Mari’s passion for education, her work ethic and her pragmatic approach to problem solving make her a perfect fit for the state Senate.
“Mari is known for taking a steady approach to her work,” Roberson said. “This, coupled with her desire to strengthen Nevada’s education system, will benefit all students. I know Mari will be a fierce advocate for Nevada’s children.”
St. Martin graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and currently works for a local small business as a sales and community outreach representative. Her past experience includes working as communication director for Congressman Joe Heck’s campaign, communication director for the Nevada Republican Party and as an aide in Washington, DC to Sen. Dean Heller when he represented Nevada’s Second Congressional District.
Mari and her husband, Jack, live in the ninth district with their daughter Darla.
