SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Monday, April 23, Romanza Ristorante at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino will host a special gourmet indulgence featuring Duckhorn Vineyards.

Chef de Cuisine Roger Morris, Pastry Chef Steven Krizman and Executive Chef Don Hamilton have carefully crafted an 8-course pairings dinner to complement each varietal…from the richly layered guava and pineapple of the 2009 Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc to the red currant and black cherry of the 2006 Duckhorn Three Palms Merlot.

The menu reflects true foodie obsessions with perfect pairing selections. Gingered Maine lobster with coconut cream and green papaya salad is served with the 2009 Duckhorn Migration Chardonnay; Pacific prawn stuffed with Italian sausage, focaccia, basil and peppers served with lemon orzo and tomato butter is complemented by the cranberry and anise of the 2009 Duckhorn Goldeneye Pinot Noir; pan-roasted duck breast with forest mushrooms, creamy white polenta and arugula in an orange-spiced duck demi-glace is accompanied by the legendary 2006 Duckhorn Three Palms Merlot. The lush dark fruit of the 2004 Duckhorn Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate Grown Patzimaro Vineyard will accompany a petite filet of veal with Gruyere cheese, saffron risotto and black truffle in a Marsala sauce. A salad course of Montrachet goat cheese, micro arugula, frisee and baby beets in a gold and ruby beet vinaigrette is served before dessert of roasted white chocolate with strawberry cremeaux with 2008 Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs, California. Mignardise and freshly brewed coffee will finish the evening.

Great wine and food should be celebrated with friends! Join us in Romanza Ristorante at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, Monday, April 23. Reception begins at 6:30 pm, dinner served at 7 pm. Reservations will be taken on a first come, first served basis, with seating limited to 65 persons. The Duckhorn Vineyards wine dinner is $125 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuities. Please contact Bonnie Guertin, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm at 775-689-7160 for reservations.
