SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

The United States Marshals Service (USMS) led Fugitive Task Force in partnership with the Sparks Police Department announces the arrest of Jose Guadalupe GOMEZ-DELGADO (49). The subject is wanted by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on multiple charges including kidnapping, sexual assault, and assault with a deadly weapon. It is alleged that in 2009, GOMEZ-DELGADO kidnapped and sexually assaulted an adult female.

After receiving information GOMEZ-DELGADO might be residing in Northern Nevada, the Task Force investigation uncovered he was attempting to receive workers compensations benefits. He was arrested today, without incident, at 1325 Corporate Boulevard in Reno, Nevada. The subject has been booked into the Washoe County Jail, as a fugitive from justice, awaiting extradition to California. Bail is listed at 1.4 million dollars. The Task Force received this case less than a month ago before successfully locating and apprehending GOMEZ-DELGADO. He has eluded capture since the arrest a warrant was issued in December 2009.

District of Nevada U.S. Marshal Christopher Hoye stated, “This prompt and successful investigation is yet another example of how the combined resources of the participating Task Force agencies can be effective in making Northern Nevada a safer place by removing dangerous felons from our community.”

The Fugitive Task Force, led by the U.S. Marshals Service, is a partnership comprised of law enforcement investigators from the United States Marshals Service, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada Department of Public Safety (Probation & Parole), and Sparks Police Department. The Task Force combines the resources and expertise of local, state, and federal law enforcement in a coordinated effort to arrest dangerous fugitives and pursue sexual offenders wherever they are located.
