NEVADA STATE PARKS NEWS RELEASE
SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. – Santa Claus will be visiting Buckland Station at Fort Churchill State Historic Park Dec. 17 and 18. Everyone is invited to attend and have pictures taken with Santa. Pictures will be taken by local photographer and Fort Churchill Artist in Residence, Richard Massey. Children waiting in line for pictures will be able to make a small Christmas ornament to take home.
WHAT: Christmas photographs with Santa Claus
WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, December 17 and 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WHERE: Buckland Station is nine miles south of Silver Springs on Highway 95A. Buckland Station is the large, two-story white building on the left, about and half-mile south of the railroad tracks.
WHO: This event is open to the public. Parents must be present to provide supervision for their children as many valuable and fragile artifacts are displayed inside Buckland Station.
COST: Each photo session is $7.00, which includes the entrance fee for a tour of Buckland Station. Photo packages will include any one 8×10 sheet of the following: one 8×10, two 4×6, four 3.5×5 or nine wallet-sized photos. Additional sheets are $7.

MORE: Buckland Station was donated to Nevada State Parks in 1995, and the first floor has been beautifully renovated. It was a Pony Express stop, an Overland Stage stop, a hotel for weary travelers and a retreat for soldiers stationed at Fort Churchill.
