SUNDANCE NEWS RELEASE
What: David W. Toll signs and discusses Breaks Brains & Balls: The Story of Nevada’s Fabulous Mustang Ranch. Toll co-authored this book with Joe Conforte.
Where: Sundance Books and Music, 121 California Ave., Reno.
When: Saturday, Sept. 17, 1:30 – 3 p.m.
Book Description: The Mustang Ranch was the biggest, brightest whorehouse in America, maybe all the world — and then they made it legal! Joe Conforte tells his story, and he tells it all, from his birth into the poverty of a Sicilian fishing village through a lifetime of hair-raising adventures to retirement as a multi-millionaire in a luxurious penthouse apartment on the beach in Rio De Janeiro, thumbing his nose at the IRS all the way.
It’s a book is full of surprises, almost a farce at some points, brutally serious at others, and it adds up to a highly readable telling of a phenomenal tale. Love him or hate him (and there are plenty of people in both categories), there’s no disputing that despite violent competitors, law enforcement vendettas, prison terms, exile and life as a fugitive, his enemies could never defeat him; he grabbed the gold ring and got away clean with the swag.
It’s a great story, told in his own highly expressive style.
