JJET CONSULTING NEWS RELEASE
All four candidates competing for Nevada’s 2nd U.S. House Congressional District are expected to participate in the debate scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday in Reno at the city’s California Building.
“The executive committee of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3819 (one of the debate sponsors), met at their regularly scheduled meetings and decided to invite all four candidates to the debate on Aug. 17. They said the main concern was to have all who were on the ballot present at the debate,” said event organizer Paul Jackson of Paul Jackson Consulting. “This decision was an extension of the VFW’s sense of independence and fairness to all voters.”
The debate will be moderated by KRNV’s award-winning news anchor Joe Hart. Candidates invited will be Democrat Kate Marshall, Republican Mark Amodei, Independent American Party candidate Tim Fasano and independent Helmuth Lehmann. A panel of journalists and a political science expert from University of Nevada, Reno will oversee the debate.
KRNV News 4 and News Talk KKFT 99.1 FM Fox News Radio will broadcast the debate live beginning at 7 p.m. Debate sponsors include the Truckee Meadows Branch of the VFW Post 3819, Americans for Prosperity, AT&T, Peace Officers Research Association of Nevada, Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce and Nevada Bankers Association.
The event is free for attendees. Tickets were available starting Aug. 12 at the individual election offices of each candidate. Please contact participating candidates for ticket information.
