SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Effective tomorrow, the Reno Police Department’s south substation at 3905 Neil Road will be open for walk-in and telephone reports.

The south substation will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. The telephone number to the substation is 334-2550.

The original reduction in force planned for March 1 eliminated most of the community service officer positions. On February 28, the Reno City Council accepted a new plan presented by the Reno Police Department keeping nine community service officers employed, allowing the re-opening of the south substation.

Residents are encouraged to use the Police Department’s convenient online reporting service by visiting www.reno.gov and selecting “Police Reporting System” from the drop-down online services menu. Residents can also fill out a report in person at the Reno Police Department main station, 455 East Second St., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by calling 334-2175.
