Green College Class Shows How Composting Turns Green Waste into Gold

A free Green College Seminar on composting will show how to turn green waste into gold on Sat., Feb. 19 at 11 a.m. at Rail City Garden Center, 1720 Brierley Way in Sparks.

Ron Schuman, captain of composting, will cover how to compost and utilize kitchen and garden waste and turn it into the best nutrients available for plants.

Seating for the class is limited and reservations are recommended. Call 775-335-1551 to reserve your seat.

While the class is free, a donation of a can of food for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada is suggested.  A Food Bank collection barrel is conveniently located at Rail City Garden Center.
