SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

PAR Electrical and A-1 Steel were named top general and sub-contractor for 2009 by members of the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors, representing Northern Nevada’s leading construction companies and associated businesses.

Quality, ethics, dependability and high professional standards are the foundation of the AGC’s Construction Industry Awards. The winners are determined by the votes of their fellow members for work in 2009. These peers are the men and women who work with these firms and see first-hand how these firms perform on a daily basis. These coveted awards are based on how firms keep to a schedule, pay their bills, maintain a safe work environment and produce quality work with skill, integrity and responsibility.

PAR Electrical in Reno is formerly Harker and Harker, specializing in the outsourcing for utilities and power generators in the design, installation, repair and maintenance of transmission and distribution networks. They are now part of the Quanta Group. The Reno office has a long history of delivering power distribution across some of the state’s most difficult terrain, including those delivered from geothermal and solar plants.

A-1 Steel was started in 1984 by Carroll Ivory as a rebar fabrication company. The company has grown into a full service steel fabrication and rebar installation firm. A-1 Steel recently expanded to include design build and in-house detailing. This marks the first year the company has been recognized as AGC subcontractor of the year.

Established more than 40 years ago in Sparks, Western Nevada Supply is one of the West Coast’s premier wholesales houses providing plumbing, water works, HVAC, irrigation, hydronics and solar, industrial (PVF), tools, fencing and golf products with many state of the art kitchen and bath showrooms.
