Chevys restaurant will hold a fundraising event on Saturday, Jan. 30 to benefit the American Red Cross disaster relief efforts in Haiti.

From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., 25% of all food sales from checks that are accompanied by the event flyer will be donated to the Red Cross Haiti relief operation. Diners should present the flyer to their server. The event flyer can be downloaded from the chapter web site, www.nevada.redcross.org.

“We at Chevys are just thrilled to be in the position to help make a difference in these peoples’ lives,” said Sheila Benson, general manager of the Reno Chevys. “We are always looking for ways to help out people in need.”

Each customer that presents a flyer will be given a $100 gift certificate for Gene Russell Photography.

Chevys is located at 4955 S. Virginia Street in Reno. For more information, call 829-8008.

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission. For more information, call 775-856-1000 or visit the website at www.nevada.redcross.org.
