SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE:
CARSON CITY — The Nevada Arts Council and the Office of the Governor invite nominations for the 30th Anniversary of the Governor’s Arts Awards (GAA) to recognize and honor those Nevadans who add to our quality of life today, and ensure a strong cultural legacy for future generations. The nominations are due Monday, November 16.
“The Arts Council Board launched a massive effort to ensure that the state’s most prestigious arts recognition program would celebrate its 30th Anniversary after state funding was cut,” said Tim Jones, Arts Council Board Chair. “The board felt that this program with a thirty year history of celebrating the arts deserved to be saved. The ceremony will be held in Las Vegas in April.”
Nominees must be current residents of the State of Nevada or organizations/businesses that work in and for the benefit of Nevada. Previous recipients of a Governor¹s Arts Award and current Nevada Arts Council staff, board, contractors or their immediate families are not eligible.
