Renown Institute for Cancer announces a special comprehensive cancer luncheon designed to inform cancer supporters and survivors on various topics relating to cancer.
Luncheon participants will learn about key screenings recommended for early detection of cancer, the latest cancer treatments available right here at home and specific key information related to colorectal cancer and gynecologic cancer. Program will include the following:
- Eric Rost, MD, medical director of Radiation oncology at Renown Institute for Cancer, will speak about the TomoTherapy® Hi-Art® Treatment System, a revolutionary radiation technology used to treat cancer. TomoTherapy, only available in northern Nevada at Renown, uses 3D imaging to treat large or complex tumors while sparing healthy tissue. This new technology results in shorter, more accurate treatments and less pain for patients.
