SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE:
Fall fundraising effort gives donors a chance to win $10,000
Salute and Support is the theme for the Veterans Guest House fall fundraising effort, running through Veterans Day, Nov. 11. With the purchase of a $100 raffle ticket, donors get a chance to win $10,000 in cash. Only 500 tickets will be sold to improve the odds. All proceeds go toward caring for veterans and their families undergoing medical treatment.
“All of our funding comes from private donations,” Board president, Lt. Col. Dan Waters said. “This support allows us to provide a high level of care to the men and women who fight for our freedom.”
It costs $300,000 per year to operate the Guest House, which provides temporary housing for veterans and their families when a veteran is undergoing medical treatment in the Reno/Sparks area. The Guest House is a 501(C) (3) non-profit corporation; all donations are tax-deductible.
