The NV Energy Foundation is accepting scholarship applications from high school seniors living in the utility’s service territory who’ve demonstrated leadership in academics and community service.

More than 100 Powerful Partnership Scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded and can be used at accredited colleges or trade schools.

Since the program’s inception in 2000, NV Energy has awarded almost $1.7 million in scholarships statewide.

The initial deadline to apply was Jan. 31 but it’s been extended to Feb. 19, according to NV Energy.
