Open House, Pancake Breakfast Planned Saturday at Sparks Fire Department

Sparks Fire Department and the Sparks Firefighters Association host their 28th Annual Pancake Breakfast Saturday to kick off National Fire Prevention Week.

The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 14 at Fire Station No. 1, 1605 Victorian Ave.

Breakfast is $5 for the general public and $2 for children younger than 12 and seniors age 55 and older. The menu consists of pancakes, ham, eggs, juice, milk, and coffee. Food will be served by city leaders and firefighters.

Events include a live kitchen fire demonstration, “Jaws of Life” vehicle extrication, fire safety puppet show, station tours, and static displays.

Parking for the event will be located at the west Nugget Casino Resort parking lot off of Victorian Plaza Circle.  Free shuttle service will be provided on the Nugget shuttle bus.
