BVW Jewelers, a locally owned jewelry shop specializing in custom, unique and handcrafted jewelry, announced today that they will hold a charity auction in which 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. The piece to be auctioned is a beautiful necklace in 14K white and yellow gold with diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds.
BVW Jewelers supports the Food Bank of Northern Nevada consistently by donating a percentage of all art sales to help support the Back-Pack Kids program. They also donate 100% of the proceeds from all watch batteries sold. The Back-Pack Kids program at the Food Bank helps provide weekend food for children who are homeless and or chronically hungry.
The owners of BVW Jewelers, Britten and Michelle Wolf, have chosen to support the Food Bank of Northern Nevada in a significant way because they know what it is like to live with hunger and poverty. Britten and Michelle grew up in poverty in rural Oklahoma and remember the struggles they went through very vividly. The memories of the hardships they endured growing up drive them to want to help as many children as possible receive the nutrition they need to grow and thrive.
“Although our past was unfortunate, we realize that we were still luckier than many families living right here in our community,” said Britten. “We have made it our goal in life to help as many of the children as possible who struggle with food insecurity here in the community we love.”
The BVW Charity Auction will start at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 8 and will go through Monday, August 8 at 12 noon.
The auction will be held online at: https://www.32auctions.com/bvwjewelers.
The necklace to be auctioned has been appraised and has an estimated retail replacement value of $4,500 and the bidding will begin at $100.
Every dollar raised helps the Food Bank of Northern Nevada to deliver three meals to those who need them in their 90,000 square mile service area. The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is proud to partner with BVW Jewelers on an ongoing basis.
