Local Government To Get Updates On Homeless Situation

Advocates for the homeless protested at City Hall last fall.

The Sparks City Council, Reno City Council and Washoe County Board of Commissioners are holding a special meeting May 2, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.

They will be getting updates on the homeless situation. The meeting will be at the Washoe County Commission Chambers.

On the agenda:

*6. Presentation and update on Operation Downtown, Kenneth Krater, Chairman, Operation Downtown Blue Ribbon Commission.

*7. Presentation of Northern Nevada Housing and Behavioral Health Strategic Plan, Brian Burriss, Chairman of Reno Area Alliance for the Homeless (RAAH).

*8. Update and Presentation on the CrossRoads Program, Washoe County/Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada.

9. Update and discussion on the Community Assistance Center (CAC), selected vendor for FY17, and direction to staff on the Interlocal Agreement and related matters.
