Wendy Baroli will speak about farm hacks during the Small Farm Conference in Feb.

Permaculture, beekeeping, Farm2Flask and farm hacks are just a few of the topics at this year’s Nevada Small Farm Conference in Sparks, Feb. 5 and 6.

Held at the Nugget Casino Resort, the event is open to farmers, ranchers, business owners and community members. Early bird registration is $85 until Jan. 25, and regular registration is $95.

The tenth annual conference will kick off with four workshops on Friday, Feb. 5: Permaculture for the Commercial Farm, the Business of Beekeeping, Farm2Flask and Farm Hacks. The conference will also offer 20 other sessions. Topics covered include fiber and sheep production, pollinators and beneficials, organic farming, harvest to packaging and more.

Workshops and conference sessions will include candid discussions about the challenges producers face, including lack of infrastructure, competitive pricing and Nevada’s high-desert climate.
