Ebenezer at the Eldorado: Traditional Holiday Fare, Well Played

Ebenezer a Musical Christmas Carol is a seasonal delight, albeit traditional and expected. It’s filled with music, dance and professionally acted in a casino showroom setting.

If you do not know the story, here it is in a nutshell: On Christmas Eve, a man examines his misspent life with the help of three spirits. The first spirit takes him back to confront his past and the choices he made. The second spirit shows him his present condition and how his community sees him. The third spirit shows him what the future may hold if he continues on his path. By Christmas morning, this man’s transformation is inevitable.

The Eldorado Showroom and its 580 seats were filled the evening I went to see the show. Everyone was delightfully entertained and happy, perhaps with the one exception of the woman irritated by my taking a few photos (my apologies).

Check out the photo gallery above for a taste of the show.

Playing at the Eldorado Casino through the 27th, here is a link for more information: http://www.eldoradoreno.com/reno-entertainment/Ebenezer/

Sierra Arts One Day Pop-Up Art Extravaganza

Sierra Arts: One Day Pop-Up Art Extravaganza

I also stopped at Sierra Arts for their One Day Pop-Up Art Extravaganza. Fine art made by talented local artists. Ceramics, paintings, stencils and much more ideal holiday gifts for those “hard to buy” on our lists or even for yourself.

I had the pleasure of talking with the artists, and they were excited to share so much about their creations. These are the artists that were represented: Joe Winter, Jaimie Crush, Nathaniel Benjamin, Vincent Cascio, Cindy Lundquist, Maria Segura, Melissa Gilbert, BJ Designs, Carrie Lynn, Kelsey Sweet, Lauren Huft, Bryce Chisholm, and Susan Handman. All of them are very talented.

Sierra Arts Foundation is a great place to enjoy the work of local artists. They offer awesome exhibits, educational opportunities, and much more. Here are a few photos, but please look up these artists and check out their work.
