The Life Change Center opening a new opiate addiction treatment center in Carson City

NEWS RELEASE

CARSON CITY — Starting this month, Carson City will finally have a local option for those seeking treatment for opiate addiction. The Life Change Center will be opening its doors on December 14, 2015 at 1201 N. Stewart St, Suite #120 offering cutting edge treatment options for the hundreds of people struggling with pain killer and heroin addiction in the Carson area.

A statewide analysis shows that Carson City has the highest per capita incidence of opioid related problems in the State (DPBH.NV.GOV ). According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 69 Americans die every day from heroin and pain killer overdose; that translates to three deaths every hour. Drug overdose was the leading cause of injury death in 2013, greater than car accidents and homicide.

“There is hope, people recover, and we can help” states John Firestone, the director of The Life Change Center, “It is important to approach this from several angles. The Life Change Center has a talented group of medical and counseling staff members with expertise in recovery from opioid addictions. On average over the last 5 years, over 80% of the people in our treatment program stop using heroin or pills within the first 60 days.”

The Life Change Center is proud to become a part of the Carson City community and is looking forward to supporting its citizens that are struggling with this tragic and epidemic addiction.
