The Washoe County Library Board has appointed Jeff Scott as its Library Director. Scott was chosen after a three month recruitment process with two other top candidates.

“We are excited about Mr. Scott’s energy and enthusiasm which he articulated clearly throughout the interview process,” says Trustee Wendy Alderman.  “He conveyed a clear vision involving community engagement and participatory leadership.”

Scott has more than 12 years of experience in library management and was most recently Director of the Berkeley Public Library.

He has also served as the County Librarian for Tulare County, presented on a variety of topics at state, regional and national library associations and served on the Board of Directors at the California Library Association in 2013 and 2014.

”I am thrilled to be joining the Washoe County Library System,” said Scott.  “There is a great opportunity to build upon existing successes and carry forward with a vision towards an enriched and engaged community.”
