Do not confuse this as a place where theater happens, this is where we work to create new works of any kind. — Pan Pantoja
The Potentialist Workshop had their grand opening reception this past Saturday evening. This is a place for artists and potential artists to stretch their wings and explore their passion for creating. Boasting a Gallery showing artist works, creative space for artist to create in, a theater with no rules or dogma, and a sculptor garden in the works as well as so much more.
This was quite the celebration that included a play called Scapegoat written by R.S. Bennett. The story of a man running afoul of the authorities and ending up in the legal and psychiatric system not knowing the way out, and is loosely based on his own experience.
There is lightheartedness in this work. The characters are portrayed by clowns, singing, dancing, and playing jokes but looking deeper you will find a darker message of the futility of a system designed to house the many and care for no one.
The highlight was Lu Brock, an actress who can sing and more, there is much potential in her future; I think.
Keep an eye on The Potentialist Workshop, I do believe that there will magic made there.
Scapegoat plays through October 10, Here is a link to The Potentialist Workshop Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/PPPWS?fref=ts
