St. Mary’s Fitness Center Trainer Working to Set World Record

mark-smaller-285x300-8624447-3901902Saint Mary’s Fitness Center is holding a fund-raising event for the SPCA of Northern Nevada (SPCA).

Reno resident and St. Mary’s Fitness Center trainer Mark Zarubi is looking to break a world record on Tues., September 1, 2015 for the greatest amount of burpees done in 12 and 24 hours.

Burpees are a full-body aerobic exercise. Zarubi is hoping to beat the Guinness World Record of 6,800 burpees in 12 hours and 10,110 in 24 hours.

“My wife and I are longtime supporters and volunteers at the SPCA of Northern Nevada. I have the opportunity to increase awareness of homeless animals in our community. I hope that people will come out and donate as I attempt to break two Guinness World Records in promotion of the SPCA,” he said. “People can make donations online at https://www.razoo.com/story/SPCANorthernNevada, at St. Mary’s Fitness Center or stop by and make a donation to the SPCA at the event.”

The event starts at 9 a.m., September 1. Visitors are welcome.
