Virginia Street and N. McCarran Boulevard. The open house takes place on the third floor of the Joe Crowley Building, at the University Nevada, Reno, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 4.

This is an opportunity for members of the public to learn more about the project. In order to accommodate growth, widening of the intersection will take place. Additional left turn lanes will be added at three legs of the intersection. The traffic signal will be replaced at the intersection, as well as the signal at N. Virginia and Comstock Drive.

A new sidewalk will also parallel Virginia Street from Comstock to McCarran, which increases safety for everyone. Bike lanes will also be added to connect to existing bike lanes. Ramps will be upgraded to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

All these improvements will also enhance safety in the area, which is a high-crash location.

Work is expected to begin in spring 2015, with completion projected for autumn. This is an approximately $4 million investment in our community funded by Regional Road Impact Fees.

Parking for the open house is available across from Lawlor Events Center. For a campus map click here.
