SPARKS, Nev. — The Nevada Department of Agriculture announced today that it has published its Buy Nevada holiday guide for the 2014-15 holiday season.

Available online or by download, the Buy Nevada holiday catalog highlights businesses that are Buy Nevada members. Nearly 100 businesses from around the state are included, offering everything from Nevada made wine, cheese and jams to seed suppliers and organizations that offer agriculture-based workshops and learning experiences.

“In this holiday season we encourage Nevadans to support Nevada businesses,” said Jim Barbee, NDA director. “If each family in Nevada spends just a fraction of their holiday spending at a Nevada business, we will help strengthen our economy and boost local business activity.”

Because the holiday guide is statewide, and many Buy Nevada members sell online, Nevadans have many options to support Nevada retailers, restaurants, food processors, supporting businesses and organizations who are part of the Buy Nevada program.

The holiday guide is available online, viewable on smart phones and tablets: http://www.slideshare.net/NevadaAgriculture/buy-nevada-holiday-gift-guide-201415

It may also be downloaded as a PDF.

“We also encourage Nevadans to consider purchasing the new agriculture license plate when their vehicle registration is up for renewal, which in turn supports the Nevada FFA, its agriculture youth education efforts and the Buy Nevada program,” Barbee said.

Buy Nevada was launched in January to support and promote businesses in Nevada that grow, process and sell food and agriculture products. Visit www.buynevada.org.
