Woman killed during domestic incident

daniel-pancake-14-22257-2100955-5550392Just before 7:30 pm on November 18, 2014 Reno Police received a 911 call from a male juvenile who told dispatchers his mother and father were having a domestic incident.

Officers arrived at the residence less than three minutes after the call and located a male subject standing in the front yard, covered in blood.  When officers checked the residence, they found a female victim who had been stabbed several times.

REMSA medics arrived and were unable to revive the female.  She was pronounced deceased.

Reno Police detectives responded to investigate and speak with the husband. Based on the circumstances, the husband was placed into custody. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for superficial injuries and then taken to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked.

Arrested for Open Murder with a Deadly Weapon was 78 year old Daniel Pancake (DOB 06/21/36).

The male juvenile was taken into Washoe County Child Protective Service Custody, and the identity of deceased female is pending notification of next of kin by the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office.
