GALAXY THEATERS NEWS RELEASE SPARKS – Northern Nevada has been anxiously awaiting the opening of our area’s only Luxury+ and IMAX experience, and at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, the wait will finally be over.
Galaxy Luxury+ IMAX at the Legends at Sparks Marina will officially open its doors to moviegoers with northern Nevada’s only IMAX 3D showing of “RoboCop.” Tickets and reserved seating will go on sale today at GalaxyTheatres.com.
“Our vision for Legends has been to create a 365-day destination that combines visitor attractions with appealing everyday retail and dining ” Dennis McGovern, general manager of the Legends at Sparks Marina, said. “We’re so pleased to be partnering with Galaxy Theatres to bring a new, top-notch movie going experience to Sparks and continue to create a destination experience,” McGovern continued. “We feel it will become an integral part of the community, providing a state-of-the-art entertainment option, plus a venue for everything from school and corporate functions to special events.”
The Reno/Sparks area’s only IMAX theater will feature a 75-foot screen for the ultimate in IMAX and 3D viewing experience, which northern Nevada has never had before. Everything about IMAX viewing, from the film itself to the sound, technology, and design, is crafted to make viewers feel like they are part of the movie. The theater features stadium seating with high-back, plush rocker chairs and plenty of legroom.
In addition to the IMAX theater, the 11 other auditoriums will be equipped with state-of-the-art digital projection and Dolby ATMOS, the most advanced sound experience available. But perhaps the best part of these theaters is the comfort of their touch button, fully reclining power seats with footrests. Movie patrons have never experienced this type of comfort in northern Nevada before. Galaxy Luxury+ IMAX will also offer an expanded selection of concessions with a build-your-own sausage bar and Orville Redenbacher popcorn topped with real butter.
