University announces one hour delay to Saturday’s Commencement

block_n-5196559-4656530The University of Nevada, Reno invites media to the December Commencement ceremony Saturday, Dec. 7, at Lawlor Events Center on campus. Due to predicted inclement weather conditions the ceremony will be delayed by one hour – please note changed times below.

The University’s December Commencement will confer 1,461 degrees and certificates: 1,075 bachelor’s degrees and 386 advanced degrees (master’s and doctoral degrees) will be awarded.
  • Processional time: Graduate line-up is at 9 a.m., the ceremony procession begins at 9:25 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at Lawlor Events Center.
  • Media badges and assistance: If you plan to attend, please call Natalie Savidge at 775-336-9923 or Nicole Shearer at 530-448-6485 to obtain a press badge or if you need other assistance. Media must wear the University-issued badges to gain access to the event.
  • Parking for media: Media parking is available in the first two rows of the Lawlor Events Center’s parking meters, south of the building. Public parking is available in the West Stadium Parking Complex, directly north of Lawlor Events Center, as well as in the Brian J. Whalen Parking Complex. The 15th Street entrance to campus, off Virginia Street, will close at 7 a.m. and will be accessible for special guests and media parking only.
