SPARKS – The Great Basin College and Herds for Harvest program from the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE) will offer an agricultural loan class for cattlemen and producers during the spring of 2014.
Called “Prepare for Your Agricultural Loan,” this course will improve agriculturists’ knowledge of the loan process and will help ready them when they begin applying for loans. After completing the course, participants will understand how to construct, analyze and evaluate agricultural financial statements; compare and contrast financial outcomes of business decisions; and use agricultural financial statements and business writing skills to obtain credit approval for their operation.
The course is offered in Elko, Ely, Hawthorne, Logandale, Pahrump and Winnemucca. The course begins Monday, Jan. 7. For the first two weeks, the course runs Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. From Jan. 21 to April 15, the course will be held every Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Interested individuals can enroll in the course for credit or through UNCE Continuing Education. To register for credit, participants should sign up for AGSC 111 (3 credits) at www.gbcnv.edu.
