NV Energy Gives $551,500 to Nevada Nonprofits

NV ENERGY FOUNDATION NEWS RELEASE – The NV Energy Foundation contributed $551,500, including a multi-year commitment, to 23 nonprofit organizations statewide during the third quarter of 2013.

Northern Nevada organizations that received grants included Northern Nevada RAVE Family Foundation, Visionscope Institute, Nevada Discovery Museum, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Northern Nevada, Boy Scouts of America Nevada Area Council, Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada, Nevada Youth Empowerment Project, Reno Bike Project and United Way of Northern Nevada.

Southern Nevada nonprofits receiving grants included the Southern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross, Nevada State College Foundation, Inc., Teach for America, UNLV Foundation (for the Solar Decathlon), I Have a Dream Foundation, Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada, Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association, Spread the Word Nevada, Anti-Defamation League, Green Chips, Green Our Planet, Outside Las Vegas and United Way of Southern Nevada.

Grants from the NV Energy Foundation go to organizations that support education, the environment, youth development, arts and multicultural outreach and health and human services. For more information, visit www.nvenergy.com/community.
