washoe-150x150-7123621-5695970The Sierra Front Recreation Coalition, in partnership with Washoe County, the USDA Forest Service, Nevada State Parks, Carson City Open Space and the Tahoe Rim Trail Association, will facilitate a summit Friday, Nov. 1, to share ideas and discuss how multiple trail users and agencies can work together. This event is sponsored by NV Energy and Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space. The trail summit will also be followed by a free general public session from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with local trail organizations and agency representatives.

Who:  Nevada State Assemblyman David Bobzien will be the keynote speaker at the Eastern Sierra/Tahoe Trail Summit and will be joined by other guest speakers to discuss trail connectivity, new trail construction success stories and “lessons learned.” Local trail organizations will have booths and a round robin discussion on “Where Do We Go From Here” will also be included. Trail advocates, outdoor recreation enthusiasts, trail non-profit organizations, trail users, government recreation staff and governing board members interested in trails in their community are invited to sign up for the Eastern Sierra/Tahoe Trail Summit.

Where: Bartley Ranch Regional Park, Western Heritage Center, 6000 Bartley Ranch Road, off Lakeside Drive south of McCarran Blvd. in south Reno.

When:  Friday, Nov. 1

9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for the Trail Summit. Cost $20 per person includes lunch.

5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. for the general public session with local trail organizations. Free.
