RENO CHAMBER ORCHESTRA NEWS RELEASE – The Reno Chamber Orchestra presents two chamber music concerts during the month of July. On Sunday, July 21 at 3:00 p.m., the “Nevada Chamber Music Festival in July” is an hour-long concert at South Reno United Methodist Church, 200 De Spain Lane in Reno. This concert is presented as part of Artown, Reno’s annual festival of the arts. Admission is free for this performance, and no advance tickets are needed.
On Monday, July 22 at 7:30 p.m., “Classical Music Under the Stars: Nevada Chamber Music Festival at the Lake” is part of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival’s Monday Night Showcase at the Warren Edward Trepp Stage at Sand Harbor State Park, Lake Tahoe. Single tickets are $25-$80, and tables of two and four are also available. Tickets can be purchased from the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival at laketahoeshakespeare.com.
Both performances will feature Bach’s Concerto for Violin and Oboe. Also on the program will be music by Dvorák, Rolla, and Britten.
Featured musicians for these concerts include Nevada Chamber Music Festival artistic director and violist Theodore Kuchar, Grammy-nominated violinist James Buswell, and Reno Chamber Orchestra musicians Rong-Huey Liu (oboe), Ruth Lenz (violin), Carol Laube (violin), Peter Lenz (cello), and Scott Faulkner (double bass).
These artists represent the internationally renowned Nevada Chamber Music Festival. Held December 26-31 of each year, the Nevada Chamber Music Festival presents eleven concerts featuring some of the world’s greatest classical musicians. The tenth annual Festival will take place in December 2013.
