GENOA, Nev. – Mormon Station State Historic Park has partnered with the Douglas County Library to host a family story time called “Reading Rocks” on Wednesday, July 17. From 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Youth Services Librarian, Kathy Echavarria, will read stories about magical rocks as part of the summer reading program, “Dig into Reading.” Afterwards, kids can paint a magic rock to take home. The stories will be read outdoors, on the grass, under the shade of a large tree. Bring a blanket and/or lawn chairs and something to drink. The program is free.

WHERE: Mormon Station State Historic Park, in Genoa, is 20 minutes from Carson City via
U.S. Highway 395, and is 20 minutes from South Lake Tahoe via state Route 207 and Foothill
Road. Genoa is approximately one hour south of Reno via U.S. Highway 395.
WHO: Everyone is welcome. Please leave dogs at home.
