SUBMITTED NEWS — Step back in time and mingle with Mark Twain. Local actor McAvoy Layne will bring the famed writer and humorist back to life in a special event at the Wilbur D. May Museum. Layne will delight the audience with a rousing Chautauqua performance of Twain’s musings on life and Nevada. Afterward, guests will enjoy wine tasting courtesy Tahoe Ridge Winery, hors d’oeuvres, and a social hour with Twain.

McAvoy Layne has been channeling the ghost of Twain for nearly 25 years, with thousands of performances all over the world. McAvoy also starred in A&E’s biography of Mark Twain, and in the Discovery Channel’s documentary The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. He is a winner of the Nevada award for excellence in school and library service, and the author of the memoir Becoming Mark Twain.
