GOVERNOR’S OFFICE — Governor Brian Sandoval today announced he has appointed Michon Martin as General Counsel in the Governor’s Office, effective April 29th.
“Michon is a well-respected attorney with extensive experience in state government,” Governor Brian Sandoval said. “I am pleased that Michon has agreed to join my team and serve our fellow Nevadans.”
Martin is currently the Chief Deputy Attorney General with the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, where she serves as the lead tobacco counsel in all nationwide litigation and manages the Tobacco Enforcement Unit. In addition to representing the State in complex, high exposure litigation Martin has testified before the Legislature on legislation involving the Attorney General’s Office. Martin has also served as counsel to the Nevada Department of Public Safety, the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Corrections.
From 1998 to 2008, Martin was an Assistant District Attorney in the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office. She is a graduate of Carson High, the University of California, Davis and earned her J.D. at the University of San Francisco School of Law, San Francisco, California.
