Mountain West announces 2013 conference schedule

mountainwestlogoRENO, Nev.– The Nevada Wolf Pack football team will play host to UNLV in the Battle for the Fremont Cannon on Nevada Day weekend, as the 2013 Mountain West football schedule was released by the conference today.

“We are very excited about the release of the 2013 MW schedule,” head coach Brian Polian said. “Bringing Hawai`i, Air Force, San Jose State, as well as our rival UNLV here to Mackay Stadium will be great for all of our Wolf Pack fans. Our road schedule offers great challenges with trips to San Diego State, Boise State, Fresno State, and Colorado State. Our team is anxious to try and meet those challenges. We are pleased with how the schedule played out and cannot wait to get started.”

Nevada will play all six of its home games on Saturday’s this season, featuring Mountain West conference games against Hawai’i, Air Force, UNLV,  and San Jose State, and non-conference games against UC Davis and BYU.

The Wolf Pack will kick-off the 2013 season on the road against Pac-12 foe UCLA on Saturday Aug. 31. Nevada and UC Davis will square off in the home opener at Mackay Stadium Saturday Sep. 7, before the team will make its first ever road trip to Tallahassee, Florida to face Florida State on Sep. 14.

The Pack returns home for a pair of games, with contests against Hawai’i (Sep. 21) and Air Force (Sep. 28). The team will head to San Diego Sate on Friday Oct. 4, before its first bye week on Oct. 12.

Nevada will face Boise State on Oct. 19, before hosting UNLV in the Battle for the Fremont Cannon during Nevada Day Weekend (Oct. 26). The game marks the first time the two rivals will face each other on Nevada Day weekend. The team will hit the road for a match-up with Fresno State (Nov. 2) and Colorado State (Nov. 9), before coming home to play San Jose State on Nov. 16. After the team’s second bye week (Nov. 23), Nevada and BYU will close out the regular season at Mackay Stadium with a showdown on Nov. 30.

Kickoff times are to be determined and television broadcast schedules will be released by the conference at a later date.

2013 Nevada football season tickets are now on sale and start at just $90 for adults and $35 for youth (8th grade and younger).  A limited number of Premium Field (section D) seats still remain and are available on a first come, first serve basis for $280 per seat.
