Carson Valley Inn offers Mother’s Day dining specials May 12

MINDEN – CV Steak and Katie’s Country Kitchen at the Carson Valley Inn both will offer Mother’s Day dining specials on May 12.

CV Steak, the Carson Valley Inn’s Nevada-style steakhouse, is open for dinner on Mother’s Day from 4:30 p.m., offering a selection of steaks, chops, seafood, chicken, pasta dishes and more. In addition to the regular menu, CV Steak will have two Mother’s Day dinner specials: medallions of Alaskan halibut with asparagus, crab and Béarnaise sauce for $30, and smoked Midwestern prime rib of beef, au jus with apple horseradish sauce for $25. Both specials are served with a choice of au gratin, baked or double-stuffed baked potato plus a seasonal fresh vegetable and a house salad tossed tableside. Katie’s, open 24 hours, will serve an eggs Benedict special from 7 to 11 a.m. on Mother’s Day and two dinner specials from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The eggs Benedict special includes a toasted English muffin, grilled Canadian bacon, two poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce and hash browns for $4.99. Katie’s Mother Day dinner specials are pan-seared fillet of sole with herbed rice pilaf and seasonal vegetables; and grilled chicken breast with asparagus, bay shrimp, Béarnaise sauce, rice trio and seasonal vegetables. Both dinner specials cost $10.99 and include a choice of soup or salad and Katie’s dinner bread.

Katie’s regular Sunday dinner special also will be served from 2 to 10 p.m. on Mother’s Day: The Chandler chicken dinner, including southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes and coleslaw for $5.99.

Katie’s 24-hour $5.99 hamsteak and eggs special is served every day, including Mother’s Day. Enjoy a hamsteak, two eggs any style, hash browns and toast for $5.99.

Both Katie’s and CV Steak offer children’s menus on Mother’s Day and all days.

The Carson Valley Inn is on U.S. 395 in Minden, near the start of state Route 88, 20 minutes from Lake Tahoe’s south shore and 45 minutes south of Reno. The property includes a casino, sports and race book, 150-room hotel, 74-room motor lodge, 59-site RV park and a convenience store with Shell gas and diesel fuel. There also are banquet and meeting rooms and services plus three dining facilities: CV Steak, a Nevada-style steakhouse featuring steaks, seafood, pasta dishes and more; Katie’s, for 24-hour dining choices; and Job’s Perk, for coffee drinks, pastries and sundries.
