The Association Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) offer many events and programs to students to welcome them to campus for the spring semester.
“Where’s Wolfie?” Scavenger Hunt, all week
Clues to Wolfie’s where-about will be posted at noon and 5 p.m. to the ASUN Facebook and Twitter pages. Prizes given to the first 10 people to Wolfie’s location each day, and to the person who participates the most.
The Pack is Back Breakfast, Tuesday, Jan. 22

Sweet, Sweet Survival, Wednesday, Jan. 23

TEDxUniversityofNevada, “Creating Community Conversations” – Friday, Jan. 25
8:45 a.m.-4 p.m., Joe Crowley Student Union’s Third Floor Theatre
The University of Nevada, Reno College of Business is sponsoring the inaugural TEDxUniversityofNevada, an independently organized TEDx program, bringing a combination of live presenters and videos to spark deep conversation and connections. The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. Presentations at the University’s event will focus on the theme “Creating Community Conversations” and includes 17 speakers.

University student wins concerto competition, performs with Reno Chamber Orchestra, Saturday, Jan. 26 and Sunday, Jan. 27
Nightingale Concert Hall
8 p.m., Jan. 26; 2 p.m., Jan. 27
University student and violist Kayleigh Miller is the winner of the Reno Chamber Orchestra’s 24th annual College Concerto Competition, and she will be the featured soloist during the orchestra’s upcoming concerts. Miller is currently attending the University of Nevada, Reno as a member of the Nightingale String Quartet. She previously studied at the Eastman School of Music and the New England Conservatory, where she received a dual bachelor’s degree in performance and music history in 2008. She will perform Penderecki’s Viola Concerto, the work with which she won the College Concerto Competition.
