TMCC hosting “Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief” fundraiser

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is hosting “Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief” fundraiser on November 19.

According to Navgeet (King) Zed, President of TMCC Student Government Association and Coordinator of this event, all proceeds go to the American Red Cross. Event will feature entertainment, multi-faith prayers, silent auction, raffle and food.

Besides others, entertainment includes bands Shanti-Shanti and Slow Djinn Fez (a middle-eastern fusion band); and Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, etc., leaders will lead prayers for the victims and the devastation. There is a suggested donation of $10 to attend.

To be held from four to eight pm at TMCC Student Center in the Dandini Campus, it is sponsored/supported by various TMCC groups like Phi Beta Lambda, South Asian Students, Philippine United Student Organization, Toastmasters, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), Eco-Club, International Club, Entrepreneurship Club, Student Democrats Club, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, American Marketing Association, TMCC High School, Student Government Association; besides JDROW, Reno Computer Fix, Project Solution and Universal Society of Hinduism. Donations have already been received from Reno Sunrisers Kiwanis, Lili’s restaurant, PTK, TMCC Central Services and TMCC President Dr. Maria Sheehan.
