There’s been a groundswell happening in Reno since October 1. Women are taking their health seriously and supporting “Mammo Up.” And they get a hat that supports their commitment to healthy living. “Mammo Up” is the brainchild of Reno Diagnostic Centers and drives education and outreach during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month. So far during October, around 1,200 women have received mammograms.

The program is supported through a Facebook campaign at https://www.facebook.com/RenoDiagnosticCenters. The social network encourages women and those that support their wives, mothers, sisters and daughters to get an annual mammogram. Twenty minutes can save a life and mammography has helped reduce breast cancer mortality in the U.S. by nearly 1/3 since 1990. More information can be found online at http://www.mammoup.com/.
