HARRY REID NEWS RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. Harry Reid today released the following statement after Washoe County School District Superintendent Heath Morrison was named the 2012 Superintendent of the Year by the American Association of School Administrators. Reid submitted a letter of recommendation supporting Dr. Morrison’s candidacy for the honor:

“I congratulate Dr. Morrison on this terrific and well-deserved honor. Since he began in Washoe County in 2009, he and the teachers, administrators and staff have worked hard to raise student achievement and dramatically improve the district’s graduation rate. I look forward to continuing to work with Dr. Morrison and the Washoe County School District to help improve education for Nevada students.”
