Northern Nevada nonprofit nationally recognized as one of the leading child care resource and referral agencies in the country
The Children’s Cabinet announced that the organization has attained Quality Assurance, establishing it as one of the nation’s leading Child Care Resource and Referral agencies (CCR&Rs). The national recognition was awarded by the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA).
“We are extremely proud to have achieved NACCRRA Quality Assurance,” said Jamie Burnett, CCR&R program director of The Children’s Cabinet. “Since 1991, we have been helping families in northern Nevada recognize, find and pay for quality child care, and have been working with our community to identify child care needs and create solutions. This national seal of approval proves that we are succeeding.”
NACCRRA Quality Assurance is a voluntary, national certification program for the field of CCR&R, including state networks. It is a rigorous and comprehensive validation process that enables CCR&Rs to meet best practices criteria for delivering outstanding services to parents, providers, businesses and communities.
“The Children’s Cabinet meets national standards for core competencies and services and has proven itself to be one of the best resources for parents seeking information about child care,” said Linda K. Smith, executive director of NACCRRA. “The Children’s Cabinet’s achievement of NACCRRA Quality Assurance solidifies its place as one of the top CCR&Rs in the nation.”
In 2010, The Children’s Cabinet provided child care referrals to 2,937 families, provided child care subsidy assistance for 4,502 children, trained 1,184 child care providers and held parenting classes for more than 1,400 parents.
