SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Project Solution, which helps homeless youth and kids aging out of foster care to develop self sufficiency skills, is organizing “Volunteer with Your Dad Weekend” June 18-19.

According to Palkin Zed, Project Solution executive director, it is a fun way for kids along with their dads or father figures to engage in fulfilling activity and give back to the community. We want fathers-kids teams to help us build a community center so that we can serve a larger community, Zed adds.

Project Solution is renovating an old school building into a community center; including raising a library with donated books and computers, a dance room and a weights room and making it aesthetically attractive. Activities for volunteer weekend include painting walls, building planters, creating picnic benches, planting flowers/shrubs and more. Project Solution will provide food and snacks for all volunteers, and every volunteer will get entered into a raffle for every hour they volunteer, where they can win prizes from various eateries, clothing stores, recreational activities and more.

Project Solution, which is located at 1090 Bresson Avenue, Reno, will also host an open house on July 10. For questions, please call 326-6666 or email [email protected] or visit the website at projectsolution.org.
