State Senator Sheila Leslie will wrap up the recent Nevada State Legislature session with members of the local Democratic Party of Washoe County. The event is sponsored by the Truckee Meadows Democratic Alliance, an affiliate of the WashoeDEMS.

“We are thrilled to have Senator Leslie share her insights into the recently completed Legislative session and beyond,” Robert McGowan, TMDA chair, said. “She is a great speaker and will tell us what we accomplished in the session, as well as what we need to do in the future.”
Leslie was Senate assistant majority whip and chair of the Senate Revenue Committee in the recent session. She was elected to the Senate from Washoe District 1 in 2010, after serving in the Assembly since 1999, representing District 27 (central/southwest Reno).
Leslie is specialty courts coordinator for the 2nd Judicial District Court and has formerly held positions in the Children’s Cabinet and other human services organizations. She served in the Peace Corp and has a master’s degree in Spanish languages/literature from the University of Nevada, Reno. She has received more than a dozen awards for her service to families and children in Washoe County.
