Saint Mary’s Health Plans expands local leadership

Monday, June 20, 2011 – Saint Mary’s Health Plans (SMHP) has announced the addition of new vice president of provider services, John Lach and promotion of Lisa Dettling to director of customer service. Lach and Dettling bring a combined nearly 40 years of experience to the statewide health plan and will be instrumental to client growth and member satisfaction.

As the new vice president of provider services, Lach will be responsible for planning, directing and implementing all aspects of provider contracting, network development and provider relations. Additionally, he will manage provider credentialing. With more than 16 years in a diverse range of settings including health plan, hospital and medical group operations, Lach has demonstrated his ability to achieve financial and operational targets and has a high-level of expertise for strategic decision-making. Most recently, he served as assistant vice president of managed care for IASIS Healthcare where he was responsible for all contracting, operations and business development functions for the Ariz. and Nev. markets, which included three acute care hospitals, one behavioral hospital and one multi-specialty professional group. Lach’s professional history also includes experience at CIGNA as director of network management and United Healthcare where he served as a senior network account manager.

A health care leader for more 23 years, Dettling has a vast amount of skill and expertise in the areas of wellness, marketing, operations and business development. She now serves as the SMHP director of customer service and is responsible for overseeing the operations of the member services call center, enrollment, premium billing and overall customer satisfaction. Previously she was the director of Health Enhancement, a wellness division of SMHP.

Additionally, Dettling held the position of director of marketing and business development for Saint Mary’s hospital from 2005 through 2008 and managed all marketing campaigns, physician relations and business planning. Dettling is a University of Nevada, Reno graduate and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations and speech communications.
