Food and wine event in Mammoth supports education and arts

MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif. — The Blue Sky Food & Wine Experience is the exciting new way to support education and the arts in Mammoth! Enjoy tastings from 15+ premiere wineries complemented by breathtaking views of the Eastern Sierra. Wine tasting is paired with a five-course tapas style meal, prepared by celebrated chefs, in a “people’s choice” outdoor cooking competition.

The Blue Sky Food & Wine Experience features noteworthy vintages from 15+ wineries including: Au Bon Climat, Barnard Griffin, Clesi Winery, Eberle Winery, Foris, Frogs Leap, Jaffurs Wine Cellars, Lang & Reed Wine Co., Long Meadow Ranch, McIntyre Vineyards, Mirassou, Palmina, Peachy Canyon, Pedroncelli Winery, Round Pond Estate, Shadow Ranch Winery, Swanson Vineyards, Talley Vineyards, Tolosa, Well-Oiled Wine Co., and Whitcraft Winery.

The Food & Wine Experience debuts on July 9, 2011 at the Blue Sky Tent, adjacent to the Mammoth Campus of Cerro Coso College. The evening also features live and silent auctions, a grand prize raffle trip to Hawaii, and concerts at the Blue Sky Bowl with Tito Puente Jr. Orchestra, Vance Gilbert, Strunz & Farah and City Folk.

New to this year’s Blue Sky Fest are food and wine seminars; the Blue Sky Beermaker’s Ball with beer tasting, BBQ and bluegrass; and the Blue Sky Food & Wine Experience.

All proceeds from the Blue Sky Food & Wine Experience support education and the arts through a partnership between the Mammoth Lakes Foundation and the Mammoth Schools NOW Education Foundation.
