SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Effective Friday, the public counter at the Reno Police Department’s central substation, located on the east side of the National Bowling Stadium, was closed. Police field operations will continue to use the location.

The closure is result of the recent budget reductions, including civilian police personnel that staffed the location.

Residents are encouraged to use the police department’s convenient online reporting service by visiting www.reno.gov and selecting “Police Reporting System” from the drop-down online services menu. Residents can also fill out a report in person at the Reno Police Department, 455 E. Second St., Monday through Friday from 9 to 5 p.m.

“Our focus remains on providing the highest level of service for our community,” advises Deputy Chief Dave Evans. “We have made immediate changes in response to the necessary reductions and are working on a reorganization for our department to efficiently meet the needs of our residents.”
