Nevada wildland fire vendor workshops scheduled

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Nevada and the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest have scheduled six workshops for vendors who are interested in providing miscellaneous goods and services during the 2011 fire season. The workshops are designed to help local vendors interested in contracting with the federal government to support the work of wildland firefighters and will be held during February and March in communities around the state.

“Conducting business with local vendors helps local economies,” said BLM Acting State Fire Management Officer Paul Petersen.  “We want to encourage new and returning vendors to attend these workshops so they are ready to do business with us during the fire season.”

The workshops will be held at the following locations and times:

  • Winnemucca: February 10, 5-7 p.m. at the BLM Winnemucca District Office, 5100 East Winnemucca Blvd.  For additional information on this workshop, contact Irene Burkholder at (775) 623-1587.
